MTV.com Community Beta Launch
As promised months ago when we flipped the site from a short-lived Flash experience back to an HTML platform, we’ve been constantly working on new MTV.com features and improvements. The smaller stuff has been rolling out quite regularly, but now we’re ready to test something a bit bigger.
Today we took the first step towards implementing community features with the launch of beta.mtv.com. Admittedly, it’s a baby step: mostly it’s commenting and the ability to rate content (video, photo, articles). But creating the back end for this lays the foundation for other features that comprise most online communities (user profiles, customization, messaging, etc.) that we will unveil in the coming months.
We have also made it possible for you to snag our music video clips and post them to your MySpace page or blog. The video embed codes sit to the left of our music videos.
Because we want to get it right before going public, we’ve got the beta launch. We invited people who previously registered with MTV.com to take part and asked them to invite their friends. But you’re not left out, either. Interested MTV Labs users are invited to join in, too, by clicking here.
So, please, kick the tires a bit for us. Rate music videos new and old, sound off on a news article and engage other beta testers in conversation. And let us know the good and the bad of how it’s working by leaving a comment here.

OK Americas next top model was decent the 1st 3 times I watch it but now with this crappy repeating over and over and over it is getting old and I am growing away from MTV. Besides what does that show and MUSIC Television have in common? I think you really need to fix it running ever weekend and everyday. Or even cut it back to an hour. I am one frusterated viewer.

How many more times are you going to play the reruns to America’s Next Top Model? I like the show, but it seems that everytime I turn on MTV, ANTM is on. Can you all play it less, please? I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Mtv…please remember that BLACK people also live in the REAL WORLD and you need to stop putting only half black girls or really really LIGHT ones on the Real World. Lots of us african americans still watch this show and many others on your station and its pretty funny that there is usually only one or two black people in the real world house and if there are any women, they HAVE to be ‘light skin’. How do you think it makes us darker skinned women feel? WE’d like to see someone on there representin for us too!!
Same thing for the beautiful latina women out there - they also make up some of the population out here in the ‘real world’ so show them. Not just ‘pretty’ people either…that is also not reflective of the real world…show all people, all skin colors….tall, short, thin, plump….etc….your ‘real world’ is slipping…its not at all what it used to be. Get ya game back on MTV!

Do NOT let this show end…please! This has brought unity to an otherwise mundane friendship and between all of us have this show to banter about. Each and everytime a new episode aired, we constantly joined back up to rehash the comedy. Please do not let these two friends part….let the new baby become a part of this reality show….and let the good times roll.

I have googled everything I can think of and all I want to know (just like everyone else) is where Tila got the black dress she wore in Season 1 finale. Even if you can’t tell me where I can purchase it-if you can tell me where I can find a picture of it, that would solve the problem.

I would love to watch the MTV Real World XX or any video for that matter, but it seems the video player doesn’t work half of the time and when it does it is really slow and buffers a lot. Is there a way to fix this problem?????

MTV & MTV2 should rename there channel since they dont play music on there anymore, what happened to the days of showing muic videos hence the music part of what made MTV and MTV2 popular…not reality tv, if you want to create that crap why not create another channel for it instead? conecpt. I have lost all respect for MTV and company what a disappointment, i remember when this channel first came out back in 1981 I was in high school and I loved it and supported them for what they did but now I dont nor do i support there advertisers if i can help it they dont deserve it.

Are you going to continue Rock the Craddle for another season? I have a friend who is a daughter of a country recording star and the grand daugher of a MAJOR country music legend. She has a beautiful voice, but she sings rock. She is also a song writer. She would love the opporunity to pursue a career as a rock artist.

MTV thank you for bringing back Yo MTV Raps. I think and most real music fans will agree that it is refreshing to see good music on tv again. Yo MTV raps replays are better than watching 106 and park live. Someone needs to start the petition to bring back YO MTV RAps. Lets Go Hip Hop.

I am so tired of the continuing reruns of ANTM. Please put something else on instead. I would love to watch reruns of the Hills. Every time I turn on the TV to MTV, I get the same old reruns of ANTM. They are not even newer reruns of the show. It is getting very old & boring. I expect your network to be up-to-date & at the forefront of programming. Please stop the madness!!!!!
