MTV.com Community Beta Launch
As promised months ago when we flipped the site from a short-lived Flash experience back to an HTML platform, we’ve been constantly working on new MTV.com features and improvements. The smaller stuff has been rolling out quite regularly, but now we’re ready to test something a bit bigger.
Today we took the first step towards implementing community features with the launch of beta.mtv.com. Admittedly, it’s a baby step: mostly it’s commenting and the ability to rate content (video, photo, articles). But creating the back end for this lays the foundation for other features that comprise most online communities (user profiles, customization, messaging, etc.) that we will unveil in the coming months.
We have also made it possible for you to snag our music video clips and post them to your MySpace page or blog. The video embed codes sit to the left of our music videos.
Because we want to get it right before going public, we’ve got the beta launch. We invited people who previously registered with MTV.com to take part and asked them to invite their friends. But you’re not left out, either. Interested MTV Labs users are invited to join in, too, by clicking here.
So, please, kick the tires a bit for us. Rate music videos new and old, sound off on a news article and engage other beta testers in conversation. And let us know the good and the bad of how it’s working by leaving a comment here.

i love americas best dance crew; but i can not stand lil’mama. why is she there? what gives her the right to even talk and be a critic. u get rid of her or i and my friends arent watching the next challenge series

First of all, PLEASE release “Daria” on DVD!!! It is a great show, and a lot of people miss it.
Also, you should really consider bringing back the short lived show “Downtown”. I love that show, and have some of its episodes on an old tape.
Finally, PLEASE bring back the music! Unless it’s TRL, I never get to see music videos on your station during the day. Your spin off channels, such as MTV Jams, are just what MTV used to be. MTV should be the way it was, mostly music with the occasional animated show and music news. It shouldn’t be asinine reality shows with the occasional bit of music! MTV should equal “MUSIC Television”, NOT “MINDLESS Television” like it does now! You don’t even cover the GRAMMY Awards anymore!
What HAPPENED to you, MTV?! You actually used to be a great station. Now you’re a vapid, mindless station!

Hi!!! im sure you have heard this already.. but the videos take to long.. they buff every few seconds.. and how come we can pause it to buff and them play the video??? Also as of today the show will play for a bit but then it will go back to the begining and just keeps doing it over and over again…. i think it was better the other way..

How can you call yourself MTV and not have any coverage at all of SXSW(South by Southwest in Austin). It starts today but nothing is mentioned at all. How about actually airing show about music and not about spoiled reality teen kids. Or just change your name to TeenTV or something lame like that.

Hey Mtv!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to say That Rob And BIG are the two most adorable guys i’ve ever seen. I love watching the show. It cracks me up everytime. I love the episode when they visited the sacred g. lol. Rob is so crazy! I would love to meet someone like Rob. He has it it all. The brains,personality,the humor,and ther looks. You guys should like come up with a contest called, “Win a week with Rob & BIG”. That would be awsome!. If i won, we would have the cookiest time togther, cause me and Rob are similiar in so many ways. He’s crazy and outgoing and always doing something out of the ordinary!

Ok this whole “That’s Amore” show. This is degrading to the whole Television concept. Seriously? Can the MTV producers be more desperate? Whatever happen to Music Television? isn’t that their name? I’m so sad for MTV this is just proving more and more that the company can’t hire some good writers anymore? or some decent producers at that, common spend some money on talent for a change. Answer me this, Where did the music go!?

Today was the first time I watched Nick Cannon’s Wild n’ Out improv show. I have to let everyone know how cool it was. I am not part of the demographic being mostly goth-and-industrial musically inclined but I *was* a theatre major. Shows like Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘n Out, in the tradition of Whose Line Is It Anyway, are more entertaining than any sitcom. It’s real and fresh and I thank everyone involved for presenting it !

I am trying to send valid feedback to the Daily SHOW as well as affiliated programs. I used to be a fan of this program and I have lately been more and more disappointed, bored and certainly not entertained, following their bias and distorted (and quite frankly super predictable and boring, worthy of O’Reilly and his show) coverage (not quite the right word, I should say propaganda) of the current political events in the States. Interestingly, their websites don’t make it easy at all to contact anybody for feedback, which should be a real red flag for all of us, because it suggests that they do not care what the audience thinks, which is very UN democratic. Let’s start a real debate. We don’t think what you think, give us a voice and stop telling us what you would like us to think. I hope I will very soon see a contact email for those who wish to complain about the program/s.

I have a station idea for you. Please forward this E mail to manager. The idea is for a ‘concert central’ channel that shows live rock concerts all day long. Rather than showing music videos, the station would just show live performance rock concerts all day long.

I was wondering why no DVDs are made on RW/RR challenges such as: the Infernos, the Gauntlets, or even fresh meat. . .I absolutily love these challenges and would buy these dvds if they were made.

Is it possible for MTV to play the shows on TV on time? So many shows run 3 min. late and then the next show starts 3 min. late. It makes watching shows afterwards on other channels difficult cause you miss the first 3 min. Or if I try to record something I miss the last 3 min. If I try to extend the time I get screwed if I have something to record right afterwards. It’s becoming extremely frustrating. I know for sure it happens on the evening shows all the time.

The movie True Life should not be on tv,just going though the tv i notice a guy putting something in his nose and another putting a needle in his arm, I dont think this show should be on tv or showng all that it shows. Kids can see this and think its ok and its not, kids now adays look at tv and think everything being done on tv is ok and its not. I dont like this show, and i think it should be moved off the air.If u feel the same way respond.

I am from Cincinnati and Rob and Big is the best show, me and my wife love it and the fact ROb is from our area makes it great. We loved the episode he went home. I as well as alot of Cincy and Dayton have a floating house at Norris Lake in Tennessee, and would love to envite Rob and Big to come out to stay at our place. It would make for a great episode as well as a great time for them. We have boats Sea Doos, wakeboarding, tubing, Kareoke night at one of the marinas, live band at another. I have plenty of room to have them stay in the house and have a great weekend. I didnt know if you take invatations to tape the show, if so we would love to host him and the crew.

I wanted to express my opinion on the “Rev. Run” Run’s House!
I truely love the show and it’s realness - From parents all the way to the youngest child. I enjoy each episode - which by the way I DVR each episode. I am especially proud of Angela and Vanessa. the closeness of the girls is remarkable! I missed them when they come to Bridgeport, CT would have loved to have met them in peson - they inspire me!
I am a single mom of two daughters , Raychelle 24 and Raquelle 22, and we watch as a family.

I dig the shows and i think you have a winner with Best Dance Crew, however, their is nothing special or interesting about Mario Lopez. There is a reason he hasnt been cast in anything since he was a teenager. Dance Crew could be more popular than Punk’d but your gonna have to lose Lopez. Maybe an Artist who can dance and knows how to talk into a camera! Again, this show is a keeper and i hope it continues to run for years to come but you need to keep the voice of the show interesting and enjoyable to listen. Thanks for the time and I hope you take my advice

listen guys i heard every kind of music there is but i heard one band that if there not on mtv they would just have to be,they are a local band in south florida. played at revolution, churchills, south beach clubs ,they are the next big thing in punk rock im mean this group is setting south florida on fire. one song miles apart is breaking down all doors.so if you can email this group tell them what you think.support your local bands that have more talent than some of this music i hear.
