MTV.com Community Beta Launch
As promised months ago when we flipped the site from a short-lived Flash experience back to an HTML platform, we’ve been constantly working on new MTV.com features and improvements. The smaller stuff has been rolling out quite regularly, but now we’re ready to test something a bit bigger.
Today we took the first step towards implementing community features with the launch of beta.mtv.com. Admittedly, it’s a baby step: mostly it’s commenting and the ability to rate content (video, photo, articles). But creating the back end for this lays the foundation for other features that comprise most online communities (user profiles, customization, messaging, etc.) that we will unveil in the coming months.
We have also made it possible for you to snag our music video clips and post them to your MySpace page or blog. The video embed codes sit to the left of our music videos.
Because we want to get it right before going public, we’ve got the beta launch. We invited people who previously registered with MTV.com to take part and asked them to invite their friends. But you’re not left out, either. Interested MTV Labs users are invited to join in, too, by clicking here.
So, please, kick the tires a bit for us. Rate music videos new and old, sound off on a news article and engage other beta testers in conversation. And let us know the good and the bad of how it’s working by leaving a comment here.

Was watching a couple videos and realized that you ppl have no balls. U edit the word pina colada out, but u dont edit were killerz get hugn? Wat the hell is that? Nothing should be edited out it’s a song and its not like we dont know what it says!! The radio dosen’t even edit out pina colada!!!! Ur mtv for christ sakes wat the hell r u doing!!!!!

I recently saw a MADE episode with a young male participating in a fashion show against two college fashion design students and I fell in love with one of his designs. It was a pink top that was featured on one of his models. Is there anywhere I can find that top or something close to it?

ok. im gonna start off by saying how much i used to really enjoy mtv. about 5 years ago, i liked the shows and videos. gradually the shows have gotten more and more dense and the videos have yet to disapear! so i stopped watching mtv or visiting the website, along with many people i know, until a couple months ago when you aired A Shot At Love With Tila Tequilla. Now that was something i wanted to see. Yah, it was a little bit sleezy but most of the stuff on mtv is, but most important, it was about showing how true bisexuality is. I am bisexual, but unlike Tila, i dont have the need to chose what gender i want to be with more. it just matters if your beautiful and Tila showing that at the end was really nice to see. While the show was airing, i would come and check out news and videos (cuz god knows i cant see them on your channel) and i would leave comments. i recently left on on the Britney Spears new video Peice of Me. i explained clearly how even celebrities and stars are human and how it boggled my mind of how many people forget about emotion. its one thing to have opinions but its another to BASH someone for entertainment they have made for you, or say hurtful things about someones personal life. at the end of the comment, i splurged alittle and said ‘BRITNEYS BACK B**CH’ i came back to the site a couple days later, and my comment was flagged and eraced!?!!?!?! what i dont understand is how you people can sit there and let the comments that have hurtful words lashed out at people, things that can tear someone down. celebrity or not. its still BASHING!! you promote equal opportunity yet, its okay for negative and upsetting comments about the celebrities to stay up for people to throw aside their emotion and agree with??? you people at MTV are SICK PEOPLE. remember who your customers are, including the icons.
im never coming back, and be sure that im spreading the word that MTV.com promotes HATE more than anything.

Trent Reznor is blessed!!! He is the only true musical genious left in this world and his music is beyond supernatural. All the world loves Trent and not those other people that VH1 is trying to b!#%&*!# weak and mindless people to believe is true. Trent is truth and the only real thing in the music world. And he is the sexiest m!#%&*!#%&*! who ever lived and no one can change that no matter how much they lie to you like these music networks like VH1. It get no more cooler and extraordinary than Trent Reznor, and I know his billions of fans world wide agree. He is to cool for any station or list. He’s supernatural and no boundaries

Wanted to get in touch with Luis from Pimp My Ride with a question about cutting edge paint job. Want to paint my two Grand Prixs with a fire and ice theme. I saw Luis use templates to fire out the front of car, I think it was a super sport. I’d like to know where to get the templates and I’d like to see if Luis knows how to paint a ghost frost and ice-cycles design on a Galaxy Sivler color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey what the hell is up with MTV it shouldnt call itself music television it should be called Reality Television were are the music videos! sure they come on but real early in the moring what the hell mtv! i know you have two other networks called mtv jam’s and mtv hits which show videos 24-7 i remember when MTV used to air music videos and now a days its nothing but pure low budget shows! the real world and road rules were ok but seriouly why call her self music television the only way we can watch videos on your network is once again real early in the morning! or on your website why dont you make MTV into Music Television again and form another tv network to run the hills laguna beach and your other crazy shows! Same thing with VH1 why in the hell would you not run music videos i looked at your programing block and i havent seen music videos any were do you people at mtv really remember why you guys have been on tv this long its because you used to play music videos and it promoted alot of artists BET plays more music videos then you guys why in the hell did you change all of a sudden after the 90’s and early 2000’s seriously the tube music network used to play music videos non stop untill it was shut down for a werid reason! MTV i am pleading you to play more music videos it is not fair to our generation and hopefully you can make some sense of what i have said and hopefully mtv can go back to playing music instead of watching a whole bunch of blondes sitting around in a room talking about their issues.

Mtv, I am Srgeant in the U.S Army. My wife and I do not make a lot of money. I read all of these comments/blogs about unique’s situation. MTV, use are making a big mistake by bringing one of the best shows I’ve seen in years Made, to Northern Lehigh. Use will regret the day you ever came to NL. Drop out now, there are schools all around us that need the show “Made” more then we do. As a student body, we do not want use to come to our school. Use will come and destory all of us. If you want your show to continue and have big audiences, then do not come no Northern Leihgh. Go to Northwestern High School. We do not need the show “Made”. Our principal just said that cause she is desperate to force us to like her. Please we do not need Made, go to Northwestern high school. They need it more then we do.

Please play less reality shows and more music. The reality show thing was ok, when it was not taking over the whole channel, at the moment I think you should rename the your channel RTV, cause you are not all about the music anymore.

I have seen so many nice houses in MTV CRIBS but one thing is common among all the celebrities. They all of really crappy art sense. I know there are 1 or 2 have nice art on their walls, but majority of them have real bad stuff.
I think all the rappers should visit the gallery in Fox Hills Mall to get their walls pimped out. I am sure they can afford it. Please guys do your walls a favor , visit the fox at culver city.
I think the gallery is called Artology . Very cool hip art…. Maybe the producers can advice these guys

I really think that Tila has a lot of growing to do. In my opinion I believe that Tila is not really worth it. Yeah she may be a nice girl and everything but I mean come on now we all know who was best for her…. Dani right. At least Dani will be better off without her because Dani deserves a lot more than Tila. Wish the best for Tila but the “Relashionship” she has with Bobby will Not Last!!!

Jamie is a 16 year old girl and I am pretty sure that she is regretting of what she, But with acting career and with zoey101 you won’t be seeing her in those shows again cause as the the tv said they can’t put in the script that Jamie is pregnet. I think it isn’t Brittney’s fault that Jamie got pregnet because I am pretty dun sure that Brittney does not run Jamie life. Lil sis might follow what big sis does all the time but with this no way could Jamie follow her sister’s footsteps this way. Maybe when she has that baby she will be a little happy about having a baby but then again if she really thinks about she won’t be able to be hanging around her friends like she does because she has a baby to take care of.

Yo MTV,
What happened? As a new year approaches I can’t help but reflect how sad you have become. Each year I keep giving you chance after chance but you keep letting me down. Now I don’t want to sound negative, but I come from a generation that watched mtv’s birth, watched it grow, watch it mature and now it’s hard to sit by and watch its death. First and foremost where is the music, “music televison”. I hardly ever see any music played on regular mtv anymore. Which is sad cause growing up mtv played all kinds of music and I got a chance to learn and see different music on one channel. Now I have to subscribe to a million other channels to watch a music video! Number to MTV, the reality tv thing, what happened? Yeah ok you got a few good ones like true life and the hills. But you let one of the OG’s of reality television, The real world, go down the drain! I can say I WAS the biggest real world fan EVER, and to see it develop into a mindless pit of one dimensional college hook ups almost makes me cry. First off it makes me angry really, the real world was a place where America got a chance to take a peak in the lives of extraordinary people, whether good or bad, and gave us a chance to learn and relate to people we might not ever meet in our on lives. Hello there was a doctor, an author, an AIDS activist, a country music singer, a model, a cartoonist, comedians and actors, and a ton of other people with interesting careers. And the college students that did get on where on either their way to doing cool things, or interested in finding who they are, or just fun. Oh no but now for the last couple of real worlds it’s just been kids who’s only goal on the real world journey is to hook up and get drunk. The relationships don’t look real and I don’t believe them. I shed a tear because I have been following the show since I was a child my self and to watch its demise is horrifying. I could go on an on all day long about how mtv has let me down, but I tell you one thing im not giving up on you yet!! There is potential yet cause I know it’s in you. May be in 2008, I’ll come home from work flip on good ole mtv and I’ll get to witness a come back!! Please just don’t make me wait to long!
