MTV.com Community Beta Launch
As promised months ago when we flipped the site from a short-lived Flash experience back to an HTML platform, we’ve been constantly working on new MTV.com features and improvements. The smaller stuff has been rolling out quite regularly, but now we’re ready to test something a bit bigger.
Today we took the first step towards implementing community features with the launch of beta.mtv.com. Admittedly, it’s a baby step: mostly it’s commenting and the ability to rate content (video, photo, articles). But creating the back end for this lays the foundation for other features that comprise most online communities (user profiles, customization, messaging, etc.) that we will unveil in the coming months.
We have also made it possible for you to snag our music video clips and post them to your MySpace page or blog. The video embed codes sit to the left of our music videos.
Because we want to get it right before going public, we’ve got the beta launch. We invited people who previously registered with MTV.com to take part and asked them to invite their friends. But you’re not left out, either. Interested MTV Labs users are invited to join in, too, by clicking here.
So, please, kick the tires a bit for us. Rate music videos new and old, sound off on a news article and engage other beta testers in conversation. And let us know the good and the bad of how it’s working by leaving a comment here.

Dani, you may not have stolen Tila’s heart but you definitely stole mine! You are without a doubt, the most sincere, compassionate, loving and honest person that (unfortunately I’ve never met). OK I had to write again. I am just so shocked. I honestly thought she would pick Dani. I cried for Dani. I have been there and know how it feels to have your heart ripped out and handed too you. I am still so upset with how the hangover show went. I dont know if Bobby was trying to be cool because of Dani and knowing that she was still hurting but it really didnt look like Bobby was a man in love. I feel so bad for Dani while she was watching that special message to Bobby. Why did they have to do that? They could have just brought Bobby out to do that and had Dani in the back where she could see or hear it. I am so sorry for you Dani and I wish you the best.

Tila Tequila “A Shot of Love” was a good show. I wanted Dani to win. I think Dani should get her own show. Great Ratings. I felt so bad for Dani, why would Tila want a student that makes no money. I am not please with the way the show ended. Personally I know Tila made a big, big mistake in choosing Bobby over Dani. Why would you want to spend one half of your time Tila, taking care of a baby like Bobby.He is immature & insecured. You said it…can Bobby handle Tila being around people who sometimes all over her…and not get jealous..COME ON TILA, BOBBY IS AFTER YOUR BODY AND SEX. Have fun Tila while it last. Well, i dont know what MTV is going to do, but it comes to the conclusion that Dani needs her own show! Im straight, and all i could say is Dani can get any girl she wants! Who cares about Tila her music is wack! She a cute girl, but everything she said was practically scripted anyway. OH, and MTV next time you have a people competing for a show. I cannnot believe that I watched this entire season and BELIEVED that Tila was actually looking for real love. She let it walk off the stage when she let Dani go. Dani WAS the REAL deal and Tila you f@#$&d up! What a scam to think this show was real. We all know that the decision was selected by the producers because its a man’s world. Hang in there Dani. I was so sad to see Dani go but happy Bobby was picked for a shot at love. This season of Shot at Love was so much better than the first shot at love with long hair boy who always had some kind of hat-bennie-bandana on his head, this cast was more so much more cool with each other and not just out to cause drama! Even though the cat fight broke out and that crazy cowboy– hill billy who hurt his own foot gave the show some spice, lol. Great Show MTV! Can’t wait to see the next…Shot at Love!

I really got addicted to this show. I am a straight divorced gal,but let me say, I’d love to get to be friends with Danni, and would love to know how to contact her. She is so real and honest, and she has such a pleasing wholesome face. I have very few girl friens, cause in the single world at the upper age group of 40’s to 50′ the gal’s are so tacky and desperate for a man. Sure I’m looking for a great guy, but darn I’d probably be happy with a fun loving strong friend like Dani. I know a nice little Ski Patrol guy up at Heavenly Resort, Tahoe. and I have learned to respect those firefighters so, and to me Dani is a prime example of an unselfish, sincere person who is out to help other’s.
