MTV.com Community Beta Launch
As promised months ago when we flipped the site from a short-lived Flash experience back to an HTML platform, we’ve been constantly working on new MTV.com features and improvements. The smaller stuff has been rolling out quite regularly, but now we’re ready to test something a bit bigger.
Today we took the first step towards implementing community features with the launch of beta.mtv.com. Admittedly, it’s a baby step: mostly it’s commenting and the ability to rate content (video, photo, articles). But creating the back end for this lays the foundation for other features that comprise most online communities (user profiles, customization, messaging, etc.) that we will unveil in the coming months.
We have also made it possible for you to snag our music video clips and post them to your MySpace page or blog. The video embed codes sit to the left of our music videos.
Because we want to get it right before going public, we’ve got the beta launch. We invited people who previously registered with MTV.com to take part and asked them to invite their friends. But you’re not left out, either. Interested MTV Labs users are invited to join in, too, by clicking here.
So, please, kick the tires a bit for us. Rate music videos new and old, sound off on a news article and engage other beta testers in conversation. And let us know the good and the bad of how it’s working by leaving a comment here.

I am really upset Dani did not win..Dani should have won she is Amazing. If I got to meet Dani that would make me speechless I think Dani is a wonderful person. Dani is her own person which I like alot..she wants someone to want her for her and thats something I respect. It would be an honor to meet Dani and I really wish i could. Dani is clearly the better choice, her personality showed kindness, honesty, caring, all of the qualities tila was supposedly looking for. Instead she chose bobby who made enough sexist comments to last a lifetime. Not to mention one BIG thing tila, he showed a jealousy worse than anyone! Im sure you’ll see that a lot more when you go back to living a lifestyle that requires trust. Bad Choice…Dani you are great person!

I would just like to say Tela made the biggest mistake of her life. Dani was the right choice, and if I could go from straight man to lesbian girl, I would take Dani in a heartbeat. Dani you are too good for her, you can do better..your family is awesome, your fire fighters are awesome, and you are the most awesome person I have ever seen bar none. Camera’s are off so now you can stop the acting Tila! So, how was it to get your name on TV and be someone. Someone that just used and abused not only 2 people but 32 people. I was very disappointed with the ending; I really think Tila has made a big mistake. But, if that is the way she really feels, then I do hope she has good luck; I just personally don’t believe Bobby will be able to measure up. The show was what the show purported to be; gotta remember, it promised she (Tila) would take a “shot” at love. Good luck to you, Tila.

I certainly don’t think Tila is any more of a slut then the rest of us….BUT, I do know that I would not have chosen as she did….even my straight friends were routing for Dani….I thought Tila was picking poorly when she kept Amanda for so long….now that I know her final choice was Bobby, I am simply perplexed. I don’t know why everyone is so upset about Tila choosing Bobby. Then again I really don’t care. I KNOW Tila chose the right person. Yes, Dani is awesome, but Bobby is the right one for her. I am one of the few, including Tila, that saw that. Dani is more of a “cry on my shoulder” friend. I am happy for you, Tila, and I know you are happy as well! Everyone will see in the end. I thought for sure Dani was going to win…and I REALLY believe she should have!!! I am a straight, 30 year old, married mother of 2, and I LOVE Dani!!!!!! She was the most genuine person on the show and it really sucked to see Dani get her heart broken like that. I feel so bad for you Dani!!!! I am furious with MTV. Tila had every right to choose the person who is best for her. But the way MTV dispected Dani with the ending and especially the “hangover” show is unacceptable. MTV played Dani liked disposable trash on the hangover show. The show crossed the line. Come on…you bring Bobby on, play the love video from Tila and then ask Dani how she feels…the way the show ended is wrong on so many levels. I was going to go out and buy Tila’s album, watch the New Year’s Eve Show with Tila, etc. I was LOVING this show. I was addicted to the show. But the way the show ended and the hangover show pissed me off. Tila, I hold you personally responsible. Tila, I hope you go down in flames. How dare you let MTV treat Dani like that. Shame on you. MTV, I have always supported you crossing the lines. But this was not crossing the lines. It was freaking whoring Dani out and pimping her feelings and soul. Never again, that’s freaking it, I am done with MTV. The ending and the especially the hangover show is unacceptable. And shame on you Dani for letting MTV totally violate you. I can not tell you how pissed I am right now.

I am a completely straight girl. and I live in ft.laud fl. My exboyfriends best friends brother was actually on the show as “chad” in the deerfield fire dept. We were all rooting for you dani…. And im actually kind of happy you didnt win because you are way too of an amazing person to be with Tila. I thought Tila was cool as hell, but choosing that dork (come on hes like 25 and still wears HOLLISTER AND ANF!!), yea, she just lost me as a fan. Bobby is too immature… But im not worried about any of it, Im just mad I wasted my time watching that show, and Im pissed that a genuine, REAL person wasted her time on that show and on Tila. Do you know how hard it is to find a real person these days? IMPOSSIBLE. I think that they should make a show where Dani finds her true love! I would love that! And apparently it didn’t work out with Bobby and Tila because there is an application for an open casting call for the second season of A Shot At Love… So apparently she’s still looking for love… Maybe if she would have chosen Dani, she wouldn’t still be looking for love…

I too think Dani should have won. I think Tila will realize in the end that she made a grave mistake. I can’t believe it. booby over dani.. im like guys but man i hated bobby i loved dani she was amazing. i still can’t believe it. the show wasnt a waste of my time i enjoyed watching it but man. it waws a very sad ending this time for me and i know alot more people. i just felt so bad for dani when she was walking away. hell i woul dhave done the same thing and i would have keept walking it would have been so hard to face tila again after she said bobby. Dani you’ll find some one better that is more set around you and your life some one you dont have to share with others.

You need to give Dani her own shot of love. I used to like Tila but after watching the end of the show, I’m just not interested in her anyimore. It would of been great if her and dani hook up. They could of have their own reality tv show, that follow their everyday life. Somewhat llike Britney and kevin, but instead they would of lasted. But that was just a dream, that will never happen anymoe. Instead she’s with Bobby, maybe she’s not at all bisexual. Tila hope it works. But, I do believe in my heart that you chose the wrong person. Dani should have been your choice. On the previews I didn’t see Dani on the reunion. That saddens me to think that she was willing to be there for you no matter what and yet in the end you are not there with her. I was shocked. I think that Dani was a much better choice. You and her were much more compatible and I think your connection with her was stronger. First of all, I’m shocked. I think I’m more stunned than Bobby was standing there hearing his name over and over again with a retarded look on his face doing nothing. Tila is sweet but she knows when she’s been upstaged. Dani is so much more popular, attractive and talented. Tila can’t be with someone that will steal the spot light from her without even trying to. Brandy and Dani should hook up. Bobby is playing it too cool and nonchalant because he’s in over his head- it was a game. When he said “I love you” in the bubble bath…that was not even good acting for me. It was so awkward and unbelievable. MTV your host sucks. Fire him he tries too hard, what a jack ass.

I and my 13 year old son had really wished Tila had picked you but I guess it wasn’t what she wanted. I think your family was the most genuine and you are truly lucky to have them as they are you. I really thought that Tila would pick Dani. Tila had the right to choose who she wanted but what I completely do not agree with is how The Hangover show went. You could tell that Dani was still so hurt by this and it was like OK just keeping adding that salt to the wound. I mean come on !@#$ how many times did you have to show that crap?? I liked Bobby too but I thought Dani and her family meshed well together. I didnt really care for Bobby’s family especially the mom but then again we only see what they want us to see. I however dont see it working between Tila and Bobby because Bobby is a very jealous type(that was shown on the show) he not only has to worry about Tila around guys but around the girls too. The type of industry she is in I dont see it working with Bobby. I am a completely straight woman but I honestly love Dani. I think she is so cool and real and would love to have her in my life as a friend. I know someone that I can fix her up with. Wonder if Tila will use the number Dani gave her at dinner???
