Every scar has a story. Some are gruesome. Some are funny. Some leave you wincing in phantom pain. All of them are riveting and that’s what the Scarred blog is all about.
Inspired by the popular user generated clips of crashes, wipeouts and accidents that permeate the Internet, Scarred is an inside look at some of the most gruesome scars from around the country.
MTV tracks down some of these makeshift stunt men and women to find out what went wrong, what happened in the hospital and how they got Scarred. The result is a show that is almost too painful to watch. But watch you will. It’s addictive, like a scab you can’t stop picking at …
So join tattoo-laden Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix, who leads MTV’s tour through the ragtag world of skateboarders, bikers and other thrill-seeking daredevils on each episode of Scarred.

I really think that this is a bad idea. It interrupted my show the other day and i didn’t get to see that part of the show because of it. There are probably people who want to watch videos of people’s arms breaking in slow motion, but i do not. If people really do want to watch that stuff, it should have its own show and time, it should not interfere with other shows. It is not pleasant for me to be watching America’s Next Top Model, and then, suddenly see someone fall off of a skateboard and break their arm. I really hope someone sees this and changes it!

this show is really cool ! but for me , it’s kinda hard to watch. there’s the blood and scares , and those sounds of the bones snapping-eww !! but i think that really , people may say it’s to bad to watch , but once you start -it’s hard to look away ! awesome !

I am an orthopaedic suregeon and skateboarder from the 70’s. I love this show! I see this everyday at work and put these guys back together more times than I can count. It’s important for everyone to see how easy it is to get hurt and that it can change your life. You could use some medical commentary; call me. Dr. S

The show is fascinating and I’ve always been titillated by gory, real-life video footage. The thing is, Jacoby, the host of the show is unrelentingly annoying. I continue to watch the show, but each time, I find myself getting more and more impatient and repulsed with this guy. I’m actually considering boycotting the show and asking all of my friends to get on board with me for the sole pursuit of getting this guy replaced. He’s a total boob. Find someone who’s less of a flake. Please.

This show is absolutely appalling!!! My favorite hypocritical moment is the disclaimer… saying not to send in your videos but at the same time that those stunts were real and obtained from real people. Where are you planning to get your future episodes if this crap lasts another season??? MTV encourages this behavior yet they don’t want to take responsibility for it. If you’re going to be so absurd at least have the balls to own up to it.

This is the only show other than South Park that I watch on T.V. It has a positive message for all of you kids. Wear a helmet!! The people that hate this show probably watch Soap Operas those lame ass’s. At least they will croak soon!! HAHAHA!! Read a book you lazy bitches!!

I would like to comment on anonymous’s comment! HA! The one that says “this show is absolutely appalling!!” and show how stupid they are. The disclaimer says to not send in any footage. As in mail, email, etc. MTV most likely goes out and finds their footage with a little research. I could go to any skateshop and pick up a video that is filled with bails and contact that company, explaining to them that I am making a show featuring graphic accidents in the extreme sport industry and get footage that way. The disclaimer is telling kids not to try and set up some stupid stunt where they will most likely hurt themselves in the outcome in hopes that they will get their 15 by sending their stunt to MTV. You are a retard anonymous, which is why I see you kept yourself “ANONYMOUS”! Congrats!

this show is the WORST show i have ever seen on mtv i hope the ratings are very low. out of all ideas to make for a new show this is by far the most ignorant idea i believe that if people wish to seee these things they should view them on you tube or get themoff the internet but to have them in our televison sets at home is disrespectful. for skateboarding lovers i can understand they would enjoy viewing things like this. however mtv should have considered other viewers n there families having to might see this and their discomfort. i have liked every show on mtv some where ok n others we good but this is the worst i hope u get this off the air soon i find nothing interesting n appealing about this show .

This show is absolutely terrible and will be cancelled soon. I didn’t think MTV could top YO Momma as the worst show ever but you really hit the nail on the head with this flop. Who’s idea was it to show sadistic garbage like this as entertainment. I am a medical student as well as an avid surfer and snowboarder with several ER sessions under my belt from the later and I find this show to be an instant channel changer even if its just the advertisement for the show. Back to the drawing board MTV, but first fire your programing producer. From the looks of several other comments, it appears I’m not alone.

I am so disgusted by this show, but I understand that some people might want to watch this kind of disgusting voyeuristic crap.
However when you interrupted the AMERICA”S NEXT TOP MODEL MARATHON to play footage of Scarred, I had to turn off the tv because your extreme closeups on broken bones actually make me physically ill.
You can’t tell me that these shows have anywhere near the same demographic. What are you doing? Is infuriating people who are already MTV viewers a viable advertising strategy?

Ok this show will be great for some people and too much to handle for others…the very nature of this so is such that not everyone will be able to watch it…SO QUIT INTERRUPTING OTHER SHOWS AND NOT GIVING PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE THE CHANNEL IN TIME TO AVOID SEEING THINGS THAT WILL UPSET THEM!!! COMMERICALS ARE ONE THING, BUT WHEN YOU INTERRUPT ANOTHER SHOW, AND VIEWERS END UP MISSING SEVERAL MOMENTS OF THAT SHOW, IT IS EXTREMELY IRRITATING!!!! AT LEAST GO BACK THE FIRST SECOND OF THE SHOW THAT WAS INTERRUPTED SO WE DON’T MISS ANYTHING!!!

I think this is a waste of time as a show but if people want to watch it, whatever. What irritates the hell out of me are the commercials in the middle of other shows. WTF?! I mean, it’s alright I didn’t want to see that part of the show anyhow, right… It’s bad enough that MTV insists on having popup ads throughout the shows (especially the ones that tell you what you’re watching in the middle of the screen while you’re watching it) but this is ridiculous! Whoever came up with this advertising scheme should get fired.

This show is sick. Maybe you should show it at late night when people should be sleeping. And the commercials for it, please don’t show them. If people want to watch it that bad they can look at TV guide. Stop interrupting other shows to show a clip of it. Its rude some people don’t find it amusing. Adults are not the only ones to watch it there are children also.

This show is alright, but that #~# jacoby really ruins it. He is a washed up poser from a horrible band. Why wouldnt you get an extreme athlete to host this instead of this poser? He was posing as extreme when his band first came out, now he is posing as an emo 15 year-old punk kid. He sucks at hosting this show and makes me want to change channels whenever I see him. Jacoby is not an extreme name, its an extremely gay name. Get rid of this tool and get someone that actually does this type of stuff so the host will have some experience on what he is talking about. If this was a cross dressing show about people who follow the trends set by others, then Jacoby would be your guy and he would still suck. Keep the show, but lose the #~# host.

I think this show is wrong, to talk about people who knowing they might hurt there selves. what about innocent people who where injured worse and have horrible scares? I was three months pregnant with my son, when out of no where a man hits us while driving. I was on the passenger side, they had to take off the door to get me out, I was then flown to US DAVIS hopitsl for urgent care I, broke ribs, lacerated my liver,fractured my pelvis, broke my femour, scule fracture. Do you want to see my scares? not only do i have wrose scared then half those people on that show. But my son lived threw it. TO see people joke and brag about there scares angers me and I highly feel that that show should not be aired anymore. I couldnt walk for a good for moths not only that bout i have horrible hip pain I cant even hold my son for that long not to mention I couldnt even have him naturally. Try that & going threw labor after all that for 24HOURS!

I am absolutely DISTURBED AND DISGUSTED by this show! I can’t believe ANYONE in their right mind would want to see someone dislocate, break, or bruise their entire bodies. I avoid the show at all costs, but my real problem is the fact that I sometimes accidentally catch the show’s commercials while watching a different program or just channel surfing. It has left me with unfathomable images burned into my brain which brings me to the point of vomiting. This is a NEW LOW FOR MTV. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES. I hope this show gets cancelled sooner than Tori and Dean’s Bed and Breakfast piece of crap show! If you care about your audience, then you’ll do the right thing.

I like this show. It’s pretty cool to watch, but the only thing I don’t like to watch is Jacoby doing all of these really gay poses. I mean, he can’t even say one sentence without it cutting to him doing something really stupid and pointless, trying to make him look hardcore or something. It needs to be changed, in my opinion.

I love this show, it’s awesome! It’s one of my favorite shows. And what is up with people saying stupid stuff about Jacoby. He is hot and makes the show even better.Scarred definitely needs to stay on the air. And one more thing you people who keep saying it’s wrong to brag about scars - they aren’t bragging they are showing you the scars, and how they got them. It’s not our fault you got hurt worse or whatever. Get over it and don’t watch the show.
