The Adidas Ad covers up the drop down menus for Games, Think, and Mobile.

Wow. thanks for giving us an html version again. The flash thing was “cool” looking, but impossible to read or use. I’m on a mac too, and it was not responsive at all. Can’t wait to see what you guys do next.

  3. Anonymous Says:

Your Real World clips don’t work properly. The clip for the 3rd segment of episode 18 entitled ‘cooling down’ goes to the scenes from next week’s episode instead.

Just FYI, you might want to fix that. It’s the same on the flash site.

  4. Anonymous Says:

The video for “Cooling Down” on Real World Ep. 18 is wrong … it is the preview for the next episode instead of the last segment of episode 18

  5. Mike Nason Says:

I just wanted to say thanks a lot for the HTML version, it’s so much easier to use (and quicker too!) then the flash. I just wanted to point out though that the 3rd part “Cooling Down” does NOT work on the site and it just goes right to the “Preview” instead. Please advise!

  6. Anonymous Says:

It’s not just Real World…you guys really need to revise how you structure the videos for shows. Cant you just make it so there is one spot for each show in which ALL the full episodes are accessible. Episodes missing and all the crap extra after show stuff bungles it all up. Get it straight..this is mickey mouse…how much do you guys get paid?

  7. Anonymous Says:

im watched the real world: denver online and for episode 18, the last segment “cooling down” isnt the right video, its the preview of the next episode. please fix it i really want to see what happens!!!!

  8. Anonymous Says:

Fix the third clip of Real World. It’s the preview for the next episode instead of the third and final scene. I can’t believe MTV doesn’t have someone checking to ensure the entire episode is playing correctly. This shows they don’t pay attention to detail. I can’t believe such a major network could make such a stupid mistake. Doesn’t vote well for building confidence with online viewers.

  9. Anonymous Says:

Can’t believe this crap. Was watching the new episode of Real World and can’t see the end!!!

I love MTV’s Overdrive website. I work in IT consulting and I consistently reference it as a great example of a media company that moved beyond regular html and reinvented the way the user experiences a site. However, I recently moved to Argentina and now I cannot access much of the materia on MTV’s site because of copyright. MTV - you should utilize this great site you have to increase your marketshare in Latin America (the http://www.mtvla.com website blows) and elsewhere. You already spent the money to develop it, now franchise it out or distribute it to your various distribution channels!

    Thanks

    G

Just as a note, I am unable to view the video by Faith Hill called Wildone. It switches to 43 seconds immediatly. And since, emailing your technical department is sooooooo easy. I chose to use this comment section….Thank You.

Way too many things “going on” on each page! Even with a fast connection, the browser has a hard time keeping up–not to mention a user that wants to click around quickly without waiting for Flash animations, etc., to load. This applies to both the Flash version and HTML version. Looks like we’ve resorted to a 1990’s mentality of web design.

What happened to KEEP IT SIMPLE?

  13. Vanessa Says:

Your link to the news correspondents’ bio directs me nowhere. Also Gideon Yago is not listed on the menu option to the left but his page is up. Just giving you the heads up. ^_^

  14. Anonymous Says:

I also think it’s kind of a sloppy design… be a little more CREATIVE with your web design! A mix of flash AND graphics and things seperated by categories instead of VIDEO, ARTICLE and all this other crap just thrown on each artist page together. That looks bad.

  15. Anonymous Says:

I think the layout would look better like this:

    http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/bleed0range/mtvdesignidea.jpg

  16. Daniel P. Says:

You see I had a good idea for a layout. If you look at the mockup I did, it would be cool if it had a random thought under the logo with a random personality like, someone from FOB or just MTV to appear as though they are thinking that funny thought.

When you hover over the different categories, a flash animated thought bubble extends with the other sub-categories…

and the rest could be HTML and advertising. Look for yourself, I think I did a professional job!

Look here (I can’t use HTML to link it):

How can i get the email address for sending in an application for “Pimp My Ride”?

  18. Anonymous Says:

so if the questions and comments link sends me to this.. which is only supposed to be for comments about the HTML site.. that is… okay.. your footer is awkward… but so then where do i go to complain about using DRM’d WM files for “leakd” which practically excludes all mac users from listening to the tracks cuz “flip for mac” won’t allow DRM’d WMA’s and the Windows Media Player that exists for Mac is so ancient that its questionable… Im glad that you guys on the Web Team over there finally decided to support Mozilla…

  19. Anonymous Says:

MTV, thanks for including the HTML version of MTV on. The flash site was too cluttered and extremely unnavigable. Great transition

  20. Jay Says:

The MTV schedule sometimes links to the wrong show. Today i wanted to see “The Wild Girls of Makos” but the link put me on the “Next” page. Looking a tthe page showed more incorrect links, like Nick Cannon that links to Jackass and a couple that link to this page http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn//series.jhtml.

  21. Anonymous Says:

I would like to send an application to Pimp My Ride. How can I do this? Thanks.

I cannot believe that I went to Logo Online and saw a call for if you are a gay person and want to get married on MTV … you only MUST be between the ages of 18-21!!! What a crack! I am 40 years old, have watched MTV for the longest time. My lesbian wife is 29, and we are both astounded by how your message of union gets lost in this AGE REQUIREMENT of yours! It makes me, and a bunch of my older friends, not want to support your programming. But, why would you care, you do have the kiddos watching your shows, aren’t they the ones that you are after, after all? In my 40 year old mindset, that is bad business. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?

  25. Anonymous Says:

And to add from my previous posting about the AGE REQUIREMENT: My lesbian wife tells me to say: “How much can an 18-21-year-old truly know about marriage, love, commitment and life?” You should really revise your stupid requirements and be more inclusive to truly make an impact. Don’t you know that 40’s is the new 20’s? Or the new 30’s and that we DO have the money that the 18-21 crowd does NOT have. (Scoffs) Whatever!

    I have a question not a comment.

Is 8th and Ocean coming back for another season?

  27. Luke Says:

How can I get my damn car pimped? I’d like to see my car which is falling apart slowly and sadly dangerously getting worse, even to drive. But there is no link or what not to find for even entering my name and car for a chance to get pimped. any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

  28. Mike Osgood Says:

I think the new layout is pretty sweet, but I’m here to talk about something completely different.
I have the perfect new show for you guys. reality t.v. at it’s max.
You want a soap opera for teens, stop going to some towns on beaches and crap like that.

I live in a small, small town named Rio Vista. It’s in California, about 45 minutes out of Sacramento. The towns population is only about 8,000 people, but it’s about to grow extemely bigger.

There’s a thing about small towns though. Tons of drama.
If you want a real teenage life experience, come here. I can be reached on my myspace page if you would like more details.

    Sincerely,
    Mike Osgood

So I couldn’t find a “contact us” page.

A long, long time ago, MTV released a movie and TV series, both entitled “2gether (or 2ge+her if you want an appropriate spelling)”. Turns out there are still folks that enjoy listening to and watching this movie.

Any likelihood that MTV will ever re-release the cds/movie/TV show on DVD?

sometimes i miss episodes live, and i cant catch up because they arent updated until after the next week’s episode airs! if you are going to bother to have a show on your site, keep it current!

  33. Anonymous Says:

Hey, i like the new html site, but any of the clips dont work for me. Do you know what could be the problem? =/ Well keep up the good work :)

Hi. Thanks for all the great feedback on the site. I have passed all your comments/feedback along to the appropriate channels to continue improving the site. Keep it coming!

For fans of the Real World who have been having problems viewing the “Cooling Down” episode…We have solved the problem and viewers should be able to see the conclusion of the episode. Thanks for hanging in there. Now go see how the episode ends!

Anonymous – Concerning the Faith Hill Video - Unfortunately, it is just a clip. But there are plenty of other full videos that you might be interested in.

Vanessa – Our links work. I swear! Unfortunately Gideon Yago is no longer a correspondent for MTV News. We miss him…

Daniel P – Nice work w/ the Layout. Again, we welcome your ideas…they will be passed along.

Casting Calls - Those who are interested in any open casting calls should direct inquiries to ONTV – Casting Calls. There you will find info on those shows that are currently casting. Unfortunately, if it is not listed, it is not open at this time. But be sure to check back.

Anonymous – Unfortunately “2Gether” doesn’t look like it has received a full-on DVD release. However, there are places out there that have it, but for a pretty penny. If you are really a fan, it can be yours!

Anonymous – Can you be more specific about which videos you are having problems with? That would be helpful.

  35. Anonymous Says:

Yea i can be more specific :) I’ve been trying to watch the hills episode 11. It dosent work with the flash or html site =//

  36. MTV Blogger Says:

Anonymous - Unfortunately at this time there are no plans on a 2nd season of 8th and Ocean. Sorry to disappoint!

Hi, I am a mom to a 17 year old daughter and we have our normal ups and downs-We enjoy watching Juvies- it is such a good show in every aspect-It helps my daughter understand the unseen pitfalls of being a teenager and drugs- It also helps me remember the angst of being a teenager myself. I am writing today because I wathced the episode with Rashad and I wanted to commend Rashads father–what a great dad- You can tell how much he loves his son and his instant loving response to his son when he was in trouble is very inspiring- My husband and I try our very best to be good parents but Rashads fater makes it seem effortless!! Please pass this along to him if anyone knows how to get in touch with him—He is a great dad and blessed with the power to LOVE his son UNCONDITIONALLY—other parents on the show should take note—and HUG your kids!!!!!!!! THEY NEEEEEED IT!!

MTV’s Trick It Out may be phoney budgets. Hate for my first post to be a downer. Trick it Out results may be real but the budget may be phoney. My family and I run an automotive paint store in LA. Last month a store by the name of LA Rims called to say they were doing a car for MTV’s Trick it Out and needed paint and supplies immediately. Their call was followed up by Dennis from Trick it Out promising cash for the paint and supplies that were urgently needed to meet their timeline. The next morning we rushed over more than $1,200 worth of paint and supplies to LA Rims. Instead of cash they paid by check, and not even the whole bill because they made some mistakes on their order. Turns out their check bounced twice for lack of funds and neither Trick It Out or LA Rims will return any of the many calls to them. Not sure if they do this so they can say they spend less than what they actually use or if they are just into ripping off suppliers. Hopefully future posts will be more positive.
