You should notice faster page loads and an easier-to-read interface.
Click here for our new HTML MTV site to try it out.
Thanks, the MTV.com team.
Please make sure that your comments are related to likes and dislikes regarding the new Flash site.

Please don’t make me suffer with that Flash version anymore. Viva La HTML! I stopped using your site because the Flash version was unusable.
February 8th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
HELLO! These comments are supposed to be about the new HTML site!
I love the new HTML site. I’m an avid visitor of mtv.com but I had to limit my use of your site because the flash site was annoying as hell! People should be able to choose whether or not they want to watch the videos that would automatically play. The load time was horrible and I use a powerful cable connection at work and home.
Now I’m back to surfing the site daily for news and music. MTV.COM ROCKS!

Flash driven content has to be subtle, otherwise it sucks!
February 9th, 2007 at 8:28 am
how can you get the flash website to work…what is required?
February 9th, 2007 at 8:32 am
As with loads of other people, I thought the flash site was a big pile of 5hit. The new site is a lot better but maybe one source for improvement is you make the picture for the main headline bigger/just as big as the others on the site as otherwise, it doesn’t grab your attention

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW YOU GET ON “MY SUPER SWEET 16″
MY NEICE WILL BE 16 IN MAY AND WE WOULD LIKE TO TRY
February 9th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
The Flash was extremely annoying and took forever to load-if it even loaded at all. HTML is a million times better.
February 9th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
i dontknow about everyone else, but i loved the flas site better. I mean, i thought it was so advaced and looked better, this one just seems blank.

PLEASE put the rest of the osbournes seasons on DVD - PLEASE
February 10th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Please make AVAILABLE your show “BOILING POINTS” on DVD, release every episode. It is the greatest show you ever put out, in line with Beavis & Butt-head. Do not let this show float on into obscurity. Release this on DVD IMMEDIATELY or put new episodes back on the air or rerun all the episodes that have been made already. Do this ASAP.

PLEASE HELP! How do you get the volume to work on mtv web page to hear videos? My media player works, but I can’t figure out how to get the volume to work. It’s not on mute or nothing. I wanted to see what happened to Ryan on juvies after he got busted again for smoking weed. Thanks

HTML>Badly used Flash…yeah
But seriously, if you guys at MTV actually READ these posts,
Please bring back the show Clone High, or at least finish it, you guys left a huge cliffhanger, maybe you could do it as a late night special or something. so thanks if you do, and Oh well if you dont.
February 11th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
on a recent “i’m a rolling stone” episode Tika was talking to her mom on the phone and her mom said Whiteys (referring to white people)will grin at you and then stab you in the back. i’m going to make a point here now. if that was a white person referring to black people as “Blackys” the word would be bleeped out and possibly the who conversation would not have been aired . why is the race issue so one sided and white people are the only racist people on the planet

Tell Viacom that since they pulled MTV content from YouTube, it needs to be made available through mtv.com.
I was just trying to show my wife the Gnarls Barkley Star Wars/Crazy performance and after 15 minutes of wrestling with the Flash site and its _horrible_ search engine (OR is a damn worthless default behavior for search).
By the way, I love the irony that Viacom is a punk with Google wrt videos on YouTube, but they use Blogger..
Oh, and the HTML site is way better than the Flash site. Nice move.
February 12th, 2007 at 8:55 am
good job bringing the articles back and not just making mtv.com a mtv overdrive website! i like the videos, but the articles are good too!!!
February 12th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
hey i fully luv mtv and all, so i was wondering does anyone know how to get on the show the real world?
February 12th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
Hello there. This html site used to be the shadow site that existed under the Flash site, just for search engines to be able to crawl and index our content, since they can’t scan Flash.
We are working on a whole new site, which will be in html (with touches of flash and ajax), but thought it a good idea to offer this liter site to users in the meantime.
We are also working on giving you a better internal search experience so you can access all our content more easily.
Originally designed to offer a strong broadband video experience, we have been working to improve the Flash site ever since it launched this past fall. We decided to put this html site live, as is, but you’ll see this site go through many more changes (design and structural) in the next few months until we phase out our Flash site altogether.
As for the other comments…
All show comments and requests for DVDs have been passed along to the show producers. There are a few Osbournes DVDs for sale at mtv.com/shop,if you want to check it out, but release of DVDs in general depends on the show’s production company and producers.
For placing songs on your MySpace page — we are working towards doing that in the future (we don’t own the music, so we’d need to arange that with the record labels, if we ever do it. But we’re definitely working on offering that ability for our show video clips).
To get on MTV shows like 16 and Real World — check out the “casting call” section under “ONTV” (soon to be renamed “SHOWS”, btw). If the shows are looking for ppl to tape, they’ll post stuff there. If they’re not there, then they’re probably all full with ppl to tape for now, but may post again in the future.
For the problems with your sound, curtis, I’m not sure what the issue is. There is nothing specifically in the site that controls sound. I think that is something with your computer — maybe something in your browser settings? Not sure.
About the music on “cribs” — we now have a feature on the show pages (under ONTV-Shows- show’s name) that tells you what songs were on which shows, but that just started recently and only with certain shows (and I don’t think with cribs yet). We are working with the shows to do that more often.
As for who presented with Seal at the Grammys, I believe that was the great Burt Bacharach.
thanks for your comments!

Your site has the load time of any site I have ever been to. It took minutes literally after I clicked on every link, and a few times I got a gateway timeout error.
However, every other site I went to at the same time and afterwards worked fine.
February 12th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
yeah, what everyone else said. I’ve been coming here for years for news, but I started avoiding it when the flash site took control. Good to see that you’re paying attention a little to what people want
February 12th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
I love the html website.. The layout is so much clearer compared to the very cluttered flash site!
I’ve also been hunting for someplace to give some feedback to mtv.com and admist all the cluttering in the flash site, I just couldn’t find any!
i’ve 3 comments about the contents of mtv.com as a whole.. and because I simply can’t find the right contact to direct them to, I’m going to list them here:
1. Would mtv consider making their flash videos embeddable? I’d so much like to place their videos on my blog!
2. Would it be possible for mtv to allow downloading of the snippets of clips that they have on their site?? I love some of them so much that it’d be so nice to have them local on my computer years later.
3. Would mtv network consider a pay-per-view basis for international viewers to watch the latest episodes of their shows, e.g. dancelife?
Thanks very much in advance!

I am a therapist that runs an adolescent AODA group. All I want is to buy some of the MTV documentaries they have made in the past about drugs like Meth, coke, alcohol etc. Can anyone lead me to the correct place!
February 13th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
i was just wondering if there is any way to contact (email, send a letter) to the kids on “juvies.”
February 13th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
Are you kidding me, your wrestling show is a joke. I know wrestling is staged but this looks totally staged. What little audience there is looks fake and strait out of TRL, even wrestling fans won’t like it. Who ever designed this concept should be fired, luckily it won’t last long because it is horrible.
February 14th, 2007 at 11:52 am
Thank you for the HTML site!! As others have stated, the flash version is terribly slow.
Keep up the good work!

What is the title of the song played on AMC today, 02/13/07 while they were writing and releasing valentines to heaven…
February 15th, 2007 at 1:47 am
I have been coming to MTV NEWS website for almost a decade now for music news, No joke! I have seen this site change over the years, but that Flash version sucked! It was so slow. The new beta html is much better. Ask the marketing team what are you trying to change about this site to make more people come to it.

I Wish You People Would’ve Stayed With The Old Site Where Everything Was Easy To Find , Everything On Mtv.com Sucks Now , Do Everyone A Favor And Switch Back To The Way It Used To Be , Cause Then I Used To Be A Regular On Your Site And Now I Won’t Even Bother Coming On Unless I’m Desperate To See Something Inparticular .
February 15th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
This is a nice improvement.
February 15th, 2007 at 4:14 pm
IF you are going to provide a search bar you should probably allow the user to see what their typing.
February 15th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
Thank God for font relief!!! Flash sites don’t scale well at all and appear too tiny on modern displays and high pixel density. I could not read any of the articles because the fonts looked like 8pt fonts on any LCD sold in the last 3 years! Today’s displays vary from between 800×600 to 1024×768 or 1440×900…widescreens are even worse! and your flash site was so tiny I just left every time Google sent me there… LCD displays must be run at the native resolution to avoid eystrain, people…
February 15th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
The new HTML site rocks! Being a web developer myself, I severely limited my access to your site in the past, becuase the flash was overwhelming, and annoying. the HTML loads so much faster, and I can get right to the content I need. Maybe you guys will take advantage of new tech like CSS2 and AJAX-type stuff. But yeah, site is boss.
February 16th, 2007 at 4:31 am
I completly disagree with your back history month commercial. That makes us caucasians look like total racits’s which we are not.
If this commercial is not taken off the air right now there is going to be a class-action lawsuit filed against MTV. So I believe the best solution to this situation is that the commercial is taken off the air right now.
If I see it again a lawsuit will be filed. Thanks.
February 16th, 2007 at 11:51 am
hey, there was a song on in the background when they were talking about a show lineup, the only show i remember was dancers life i think it’s called. also, the flash site is crap, it’s slow and ugly and the adds are oppressive. doesn’t mtv make enough money on telelevision that they could afford to not have adds pop in the middle of the page all the time? but more importantly, that song in the background, i feel like they say “yeah” a lot in it and the dude singing has a high voice . . . also . . . sweet typo girl above me . . . BACK HISTORY MONTH???
February 16th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Much better than the sluggish crappy flahs based site. Easy to read, easy to click and return from links..
You almost lost me. I’m glad you’re trying this out. I hope you stick to it.

I just saw the Nightline piece on “Darius Goes West” and I am floored that MTV would refuse the request to “Pimp” Darius’ Ride while using one of the lamest excuses that I have ever heard. Shame on MTV and the corporate suits that turned down the request.

February 17th, 2007 at 11:25 am
what kind of lie detection software to you use on the show exposed?
February 17th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
Hey. I realize that marketing and the dollar make you focus on the ignorant kids.
What about the 40 yr. olds that were subjected to the “Safety Dance” video, over and over?
My ride needs pimpin’! I live in the Nor’East. Oh, wait, you only pimp rides in So. Cal.. Looking back, I should’ve changed the channel.
If you have any decency, you will step up and pimp my ride. All businesses need a strong foundation. The customers are your foundation. I have been a customer since 1982.
February 17th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
I am looking for the address or a way to send my video to “Pimp My Ride”. Where do I send it? Anyone?
